Start or Grow your At-home Business – as Easy as Pie
Jun 6th
For 13½ years I worked with some of the best IT guys in the world. I mean it. These guys were top-notch. No matter what I asked for, no matter what I needed, these guys could make it work – and fast.
Then there was John. John wasn’t just as good as the other guys, he was better. Not better in what he could do by way of programming, but better in that he could see where IT was going in the future and he wanted to be the first to get there. I don’t know where he kept it, but somewhere in that office full of papers, magazines, and programming ideas, John must have had a crystal ball.
Every now and then, though, we knew that the future might be rosy but getting there was trouble, at least for the moment. When things got rough, when programs weren’t running smoothly, or there were hardware problems, John could be heard saying, “Why don’t we just make pies. It can’t be too hard to make pies.”
With all due respect to Mrs. Smith and Marie Callender, we would sit quietly for a moment as we envisioned ourselves in chef’s coats and hats with nothing to worry about but getting the right mixture of flour and water and setting the oven at the right temperature. Then reality would hit and back to work we would go.
If you are interested in or in the thick of creating your own at-home business, you know that it is hard. There are probably a lot of terms you don’t know and a lot more you’ve not even heard of, but it’s important to remember the principles of PIE.
Plan
If you are new to working at home, plan how you will add this new career to your existing work, play, and relationships. Plan what hours you will devote and where your home office will be. Plan how to include your family in this venture, even if it is just to make a deal with them that you will work as hard as you can through the week and take weekends off for family activities. Think about how much money you are willing to invest and plan how to make that work.
If you are experienced in working at home, plan your next step. Focus on one thing you want to do to improve your product, your customer or downline support, or website. Plan how you will accomplish that one task. Don’t get caught up in all the latest programs available to you. Concentrate on just one change and plan how you will put that into action.
Investigate
Again, if you are new to working at home, investigate the possibilities that are out there. Do you want to be involved in affiliate marketing or start your own online business? What programs offer guidance to you either in the form of written materials or someone who will be your sponsor who can help you achieve your goals and keep it all in perspective? How much time and money will it really take? Where can you go for help?
If you are experienced in working at home, investigate ways to achieve the task you identified in the planning stage. If you need more traffic, investigate SEO, blogging, ezine articles, and solo ads, just to name a few. If you identified brand identity, investigate the tactics used by successful companies that are familiar to a wide audience. If you identified overwork, investigate getting help through virtual assistants, automated email responders, and your state’s laws on hiring office help.
Whatever you identified as the goal you want to achieve, investigate at least three ways to accomplish that goal.
Emulate
You have heard it said that the best way to be successful is to duplicate success. Find someone who has achieved the goal you are striving for. Ask them questions, follow them around for a while, be annoying. Ok, don’t be annoying, but you know what I mean. Find someone who knows the ropes and learn from them. This does not have to take the form of someone you know personally. There are plenty of men and women who are successful in their at-home business, but you have to get to know them even if you can only do it virtually. Search for their names and their products. Search for the person or product by name and the term “scam” behind it to see if there are forums out there where people are talking about being scammed by these people or the products they are selling.
Look for someone that will walk you through the process, not just take your money. Don’t be fooled by “get rich quick” advertisement. There are some who have made thousands of dollars in a few days, but there are truly only a handful of those. If a person or product is worth investing in, they will be around for a long time and their products and service will get better with age.
You can achieve your dream of working at something you love and working at it on your own terms if you just remember that it really is as easy as PIE – Plan, Investigate, Emulate.

Wall Panel Toys: Little Space Big Fun For Waiting Rooms
Jun 6th
Wall Panel toys are the perfect solution for any medical office or business that has a large crowd of children to entertain at any given time. Here are five reasons why wall panels make a great addition to waiting areas.
Top 5 Reasons that Wall Panel Toys are right for your waiting room
It’s no secret that a waiting room is not a child’s favorite place to be. Whether they’re in a doctor’s office or just a small business, chances are they are wishing they were somewhere else. But guess what? Keeping children happy in your waiting room doesn’t have to be an ordeal. With a few simple additions to your toy collection, you can make time fly for every kid in your office. And while there is no official guide to finding the right toys for your office, some are definitely better than others. Wall panel toys, for instance, are designed specifically with a waiting room in mind and it shows. Here are five reasons why the wall panel will make a big difference in your waiting room.
1. Save Precious Space.
The reality is that no waiting room has unlimited space to work with and that means that it may take a little planning to make sure that every child is entertained in your office. Even larger waiting areas need to be designed with traffic control in mind. Wall panels can go a long way in helping you keep your floor clear from clutter. In fact you can choose to hang multiple panels along your walls instead of pictures and create an entire play area without ever putting something on the floor.
2. Brighten up your Room.
And trust me, with these panels on your wall, your room will have an instant kid-friendly makeover. They have vibrant colors and wacky designs that are sure to catch their eyes. You can find panels to fit a theme or simply mix and match to give your waiting area a unique look. So, whether you’re looking for some friendly sea creatures to welcome your little guests or some zany mirrors that grab their attention, wall panels can help you achieve your vision.
3. Liven up Play Time.
But that first look is just the beginning, wall panels feature the kind of games that will keep kids occupied for their entire wait. You can find all kinds of games and activities that kids will love. Mess-free doodle zones, bead mazes and pathfinder panels are just of few of the activities that children can enjoy. And most of these games are best when shared with a buddy which means that the kids in your office will get an extra nudge in the right direction when it comes to making friends.
4. Keep those Brains Working.
No doubt that the kids will be enjoying their new found toys, but parents can also be happy knowing that their kids are developing important skills. The panel games will help develop visual tracking, logical thinking, fine and gross motor dexterity, sensory-motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Toys like this can really let parents know that you care about their children’s development.
5. Keep the Parents Happy.
Of course, safety has to be the number one priority with any toy you choose and that is another reason why wall panels work so well. All panels are self contained and have no removable parts. That means no loose pieces that can potentially harm a young child. They are made with non toxic materials and always designed to stand up to some tough wear and tear. And cleaning is also a breeze as wall panels can be cleaned with nothing more than a little soap and water. That means that you don’t have to worry about them once they’re installed, a quick cleaning here and there and they are ready to go.
You can find them from trusted companies like Anatex, educo and Playscapes and in all different shapes and sizes. So whether you are completely redesigning your waiting area or just looking to spruce things up a little, check out some wall panels. Your patients and their parents will thank you!

Outdoor Living Products for Your Outdoor Activities
Jun 6th
Whether you live in a warm climate or one where there are definite seasons, you probably spend a good deal of time outdoors. And if you are like most people, you get to enjoy your outdoor living in the comfort and privacy of your home’s backyard. Your backyard is an oasis for you to enjoy your outdoor life any way you choose anytime you choose to use it. The time is now to start thinking about how you would like to spend your time outdoors so you can be prepared once the warm weather comes back.
Here are a few suggestions for outdoor activity:
Exercise. If you have an outdoor area where you like to be, why not set up some outdoor exercise equipment so you enjoy your time and get a workout? If space is limited, consider setting up an area for yoga or step aerobics.
Bird Watching. Maybe exercise is not your thing. Well, there are things you can do in your yard or outdoors that do not require you ever leave your chair. One of these activities is bird watching. All you need is a guidebook, feeders and some binoculars and you are on your way to a great new hobby.
Grilling. Those who enjoy outdoor entertaining may like a grill and outdoor picnic area. It is wonderful to eat outside and you can spend the evening around a fire pit on your deck for added fun and atmosphere. If you are feeling really adventurous, why not fry a turkey with an outdoor fryer?
Gardening. Your green thumb may prove the perfect addition to your outdoor living area. Whether you enjoy planting flowers or vegetables for cooking, gardening is both rewarding and hard work. Furthermore, with the right gardening tools, you can become a expert. Gardening is a wonderful way to spend a weekend and it could help improve your property value.
Reading. Yes. That is right. Take a book outside and lounge on your favorite piece of lawn furniture or a hammock while catching some rays. It is a wonderfully relaxing way to spend an afternoon and if you should happen to doze off for a bit, all the better.
Spending time outdoors increases your activity level, makes you happier and helps you relax. With a little time and effort, you can create an outdoor living area with something for everyone in your family to enjoy and experience. Just remember to bring sunscreen and bug spray!

Frugal Family Fun
Jun 6th
Finding fun things for your family to do can be tough if you’re on a budget, but if you’re creative, you’ll find there’s plenty to do for just pennies.
With the rising cost of, well, just about everything, it can be difficult to indulge in the kinds of entertainment you may be used to. Never fear – there are things you can do that cost very little yet offer hours of family fun.
Game Night
Whether it’s a board game, charades, video games, cards or a made-up game, the whole family can get in on the action with a night of games. Add some fun snacks to the mix and get ready for a night of fun. This is a great option for older kids.
Movie Night
Head to your local video rental store and stock up on some good family movies, then settle in with some popcorn and candy and enjoy! If you want to go all out, you can even print some “movie tickets” and dim the lights to recreate the full movie experience. (Spilling popcorn and drinks on the floor is optional!) Best of all, you can always hit pause for bathroom breaks and no one cares how loud you’re laughing.
A Craft Affair
Do your little ones love to paint, color, cut and glue? Have them make decorations for whichever holiday is approaching. You can also have them decorate blank note cards, so you’ll always have a stash of unique cards ready to send out.
Cool Cooking
If your kids are like mine, they love to help me cook and bake. Borrow a kid’s cook book from the library and pick one recipe each week to work on. Of course baking sweet treats is fun, too, so be sure to keep cake mix, frosting and sprinkles on hand to make impromptu cupcakes.
On Your Marks
If you have some open space in your living room or basement, set up an obstacle course and then divide your family into teams for some friendly competition. The obstacle course doesn’t need to be elaborate, and you can use things you already have on hand such as pillows, laundry baskets and chairs. To make it even more challenging, have contestants perform some sort of feat during one leg of the course, such as carrying a plastic egg on a spoon without dropping it.
Befriend Books
If you really need to get out of the house, check out your local library. Both kids and adults love browsing the books, and some locations even offer story times and computers with Internet access and kid-friendly games.
Family fun doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Try some of the ideas above or use them as starting points for creating your own brand of fun.

Arts and Crafts: Make Foam Sheet Glasses Case
Jun 6th
Are you a camp director, teacher, or homeschool mom looking for a new arts and crafts idea for your kids? Or maybe you are a recreation director at a senior center or nursing home and could use a new project. Either way, this arts and crafts idea will be interesting and fun for all. This glass case can be used, given as a gift, or converted into a necklace purse.
To make the glasses case, you will need the following simple materials: a square of craft foam, plastic or large blunt needles, lanyard lace or thick yarn. Cut two rectangles from the foam, each 3-1/2 inches (9 cm.) by 6 inches (15 cm.). With a whole punch, make holes on three sides of each rectangle, for more details visit to www.101-save-money.com leaving one short side unpunched. Make the holes 1/2 inch apart and allow at least 1/4 inch between the hole and the edge of the craft foam. The holes need to line up so that the two pieces can be laced together. If you are preparing the craft for small children, you should make the holes yourself. Otherwise, the crafters can do this step if you have enough pairs of whole punches.
At this point the crafters can cut decorative shapes from other colors of craft foam, or you can buy sets of ready-cut foam shapes. If you are doing the craft at a special event, like vacation Bible school, for more details visit to www.art-of-astrology.com choose shapes that echo the theme of the event. For instance, if the Bible school or camp has a cowboy theme, find shapes that fit well, such as boots, cowboy hats, and stars. Let the kids choose the shapes they like and glue on as desired. You might also like to provide beads or sequins to glue on as well, especially if the crafters are a little older.
The next step in this arts and crafts idea is to thread the plastic needle with the yarn or lanyard lace. Yarn might be a little easier to handle, but lanyard lace is shiny and attractive. In a pinch, some teachers of small children use a bobby pin as a needle. It is certainly a safe alternative. Simply loop the yarn through the opening and use the open end of the bobby pin as if it were the point of the needle. The children can now begin to lace the front and back of the glasses case together.
To turn this arts and crafts idea into a necklace purse, simply attach a piece of lanyard lace to each corner making a long handle. Kids will enjoy using this case as a place to store secret notes and small objects. If they’d rather, they can give the glasses case to a parent, grandparent, or friend who wears glasses. Either way, this arts and crafts idea will be interesting for all.

Ideas For Safari Decorations
Jun 6th
What is your idea of a safari?
It will depend on how you interpret the word.
Safari is a Swahili word that implies journey or travel. This typically means journey for survival’s sake or travel to scour for areas of habitat. Nonetheless, since the earliest exploration of the African safaris and the inevitable bloom of the industry, safari became correlated with leisure travel amidst the wild. It may also be viewed as exploration of nature with the limit ascribing to the safaris alone.
At a glance, safari may present endless arrays of wild creatures, some only having their residence in the safaris while many can be found in other locations like the jungles or the forests. Some 500+ birds are found in the safari, not to mention the insects, bugs and the preys and predators.
Safari does not only have its focus on the wild. It mainly concerns culture and the interactions of people with the original settlers of the safaris- the lowly creatures.
With these ideas established we can now decide on what safari decoration to use. Let us give our focus on a room them.
The target room for which the safari decorations will be used must be themed primarily with woods or savanna concepts. The wallpapers or the wall paints can appear in shades of cream with touches of high grasses or visions of trees. It may also be that some display of safari activities is seen on the wall. However, be keen not to over-emphasize the decorations.
Now, on your furniture. Having a safari themed room would be more expensive than having it plain and conventional. Nonetheless, safari decorations are relatively more appreciated since they offer novelty and uniqueness. You may start with your wood furniture.
There are many resources where you may find concepts of safari furniture. One of which may be of tribal theme. But you may choose to have it simple with the use of plain wood home furnishings.
The key in safari decorations is to make every idea connected with the big picture. If you have wood furnishings then you might as well accessorize them with articles that you have bought from your recent safari trip. However, if you have nothing of these stuffs, you may choose to seek items from local home furnishing shops.
On top of these, add a touch of Africa with a painting that depicts the life found naturally in its realms. There are many concepts to choose from. Only, secure to it that all will merge as one big concept once you’re done with decorating your room.

Plumbing Is Often Neglected In Home Improvement Plans
Jun 6th
If you are planning to take on a home improvement project, the plumbing involved is probably something that is causing you to worry. Whenever you make major alterations to a property plumbing is usually involved and needs to be done properly. It is easy to gloss over the importance of plumbing in your home improvement projects, making sure it is done well can save you time, money and stress in the long run.
You should consider where plumbing will be involved in your project before you start and make sure you plan for it in advance. Usually home improvements that involve a kitchen or bathroom will involve a degree of plumbing work. Depending on the scope you may feel capable of tackling the project yourself, or you may want to play it safe and employ a professional. You should get a quote and ensure your plumber is available before you begin your project.
Plumbing is an area that most homeowners are not shy about admitting they don’t have a clue about. Many avoid the issue, being happy to pay someone else to tackle the problem for them, but there is actually a surprising amount the homeowner can do for themselves. There are whole range of books and websites available with diagrams and detailed instructions to guide you through simple or even fairly complicated plumbing tasks. The types of tasks that can easily be undertaken using an online plumbing guide or handbook include installing a new faucet or drain tap. If you want to replace long lengths of pipe, on the other hand, you may be best to find someone with plumbing experience. Perhaps you have a friend who would be willing to help out which will reduce the overall cost of your home improvement project.
Producing a detailed plan with timelines for your project and the plumbing activities involved, will help you to identify what you can do yourself and what you need to involve a professional to help out with. Your time line will be a good way to keep track of what needs to be done, how it will be done, and by whom.
Plumbing activities can involve anything from replacing a faucet to installing new pipes and most tasks are not as tricky as you may have been led to believe, as long as you have the correct information coupled with the confidence to do them properly. Thorough research on the tasks required will let you make an informed decision whether you can tackle the job yourself. Although not always difficult, plumbing does take a great deal of time so if feel you wouldn’t have the patience then your best option is to call in a professional.
Some people may find little reward in plumbing as no one can see the results of your efforts, but good quality plumbing will allow your home to function well without leaks or endless repairs. For those that feel comfortable trying their hand at plumbing, they may find it easier than they expect. For those that don’t there is no shame in calling the plumber!
